Welcome to the 2009 DC Shorts Film Festival. Now in its 6th year, DC Shorts has been named by MovieMaker Magazine as “one of the nation’s leading short film festivals.”
During the film competition weekend (September 10-12), we will screen 100 films in 10 rotating showcases. We have many local films, as well as movies from 16 different countries!
After the competition weekend (September 13-17), we will re-screen all of the programs, plus remix films into specialty shows. The week culminates with the special “Best of DC Shorts” screenings on Thursday, September 17.
Explore our new web site! Vote for your favorite Original Song (the winner walks away with a cool Gibson guitar,) read summaries of the films, plan your experience by using the tools in the “Schedule” section, and read the DCS blog! Do you Facebook or Twitter? Then join us on these sites, too — we will be offering special news and offers for our social networking friends!
And of course, spend the week with more than 150 filmmakers in attendance to answer questions, chat about film — or just hang with and get to know.
